Happy late Easter!

Sorry I haven't posted in a while - things have been pretty busy! Gavin is growing like crazy and is such a smarty pants! He has actually started exploring his defiant side - doesn't make Mommy or Daddy too happy! He is hard to discipline because he's so stinkin' cute but I do my best!

Steven bought a motorcycle a couple of weeks ago. I have to say it's pretty sweet and I know it makes him happy! I pray that he stays safe!

Easter was fun this year.. Gavin enjoyed 4 egg hunts - one at his school, one at Uncle Wayne and Aunt Donna's, another at my parent's house and then a fourth at our house. He had a blast with all of them. The Easter bunny left him a fun basket full of goodies, he was just so excited to see all his fun toys but really was most concerned about the candy!


I have sort of lost track of the photos I have taken this month - I've been snapping away with my new camera so enjoys these fun shots!

photos galore - new camera =)

It's been almost a month since the last post - sorry for the delay! I got a new camera a few weeks ago - a digital SLR - and I am in love!! Gavin has been taking a few steps back with the potty - actually he hasn't gone on the potty for almost 3 weeks. He was doing so well and then all of a sudden he did not want to go on the potty anymore.. oh well, we don't want to force it! He has been talking up a storm lately, it's so incredible to have conversations with him now! Hockey has become his new favorite thing - whether it's on tv or he's playing it in the basement. Uncle DD bought him a hocket net with two sticks and a ball and he is in love with it!! The past few weeks have been super fun and photo-filled!!

These are some of the first photos I took with my new Nikon - it's so hard to get a 2 1/2 year old to smile for the camera!

Gav and I went to a baby shower on Saturday - he really didn't spend a whole lot of time with mommy, he was too busy hanging with the boys and all the other ladies.. this is a picture of Gav with Uncle Bryan and Uncle DD and one of him enjoying the yummy cake!!
Our beautiful tree that only blooms for about one week a year.. so pretty!We celebrated my nephew's 9th birthday on Sunday.. it's hard to believe he's already 9. Gav loves playing at Grammie and PopPop's house and spending time with Shayna and Lucas. It was such a beautiful day out so when we got home we decided to head back outside and have fun with bubbles. Both Gavin and our dog Lucy were having a blast!!

Spring Fever!

Gavin has been doing well with the potty.. I really think we're headed in the right direction =) He actually used a public potty the other day for the first time, and my niece thought I was nuts when I was getting so excited!! It was a big step for him to use a potty other than his own, so I was praising him like crazy!! We've tried to stay busy the past couple of weeks. We enjoyed a hockey game with Gavin's Uncle DD (pictures will be up soon!) Gavin seriously LOVES hockey. He sat and watched the entire game, plus the overtime period, plus the 8 round shoot-out and he had a blast!! We got to enjoy a lot of family time this past weekend - lunch, shopping and a fun visit with my Grammie. I just love spending time with her, but it's so hard and painful at the same time.. Our wedding anniversary is coming up on March 28th. We are going to take a weekend trip to Washington DC - my mom is going to watch Gavin (thanks mom!!) and my mother-in-law is going to care for the dogs (thanks Lil!) It will be nice to take a trip with just Steven, we've not done anything like this since Gav was born so it will be a special treat =)

Gavin made a neat tie-dye shirt at school. He was so proud when he put it on =) He is talking like crazy now and is putting together nice sentences. The alphabet and twinkle twinkle little star are his favorite songs right now! He's become much more interested in coloring and helping mommy cook over the past couple of weeks. He's my big helper!!

Steven's shift is changing.. he is now going to be working second shift.. bummer. He will keep Gav home in the mornings with him then drop him off at school for the afternoon - so he will only be there half days but 5 days a week. It's not going to be fun.. but we're thankful he still has a job. My work is going pretty well - one days it's great, the next it's super emotional and tough - today is going well so far =) I was thinking the other day and if Steven and I would have gotten pregnant when we started trying - last June - then our due date would be next Tuesday.. oh wow, we'd have a newborn soon! Part of me is glad we didn't get pregnant because I don't know that we'd be ready, another part is just wishing it would have happened then so this whole roller-coaster could have been avoided. I am faithful and I do trust in the LORD with all my heart so I know the right time will come!
